Preface Islamic Republic of Iran celebrating its centennial background to oil and gas industry is considered a pivotal player in both domestic and international energy arena. In the meantime, oil industry proves to be central to the country’s economy. Since a variety of expertise and technologies constitute the oil industry, extensive up-to-date studies at local, regional and international level is needed to materialize the optimization of the industry. Therefore, the Institute for International Energy Studies, since its establishment, has put high on its agenda to meet such a need utilizing indigenous potentials and international achievements.
About Us The Institute for International Energy Studies (IIES), affiliated to the Islamic Republic of Iran Ministry of Petroleum, was established in 1991. The Ministry of Science, Research and Technology granted an official certification to the IIES Research Faculty in 1996. Ever since, IIES has acted as a credible research center and reputable think tank for the Ministry to assume its unique and decent position in the industry within and beyond the national borders.
IIES Mission Energy issues are the focal point for IIES studies concentrating, in particular, on oil and gas at local, regional and international level. The institute’s contributions span a wide range of activities in the form of researches, seminars, advisory services and training courses.
