| Institute For International Energy Studies
(I.I.E.S)Was Established In 1991 To Promote and |
enhance energy related studies in Iran, especially pertaining to the world market. The
significance of IIES is better understood when Iran's unique geographical location, its century
old oil industry background, its position as the third largest exporter of oil and the holder of
the second largest natural gas reserves in the world is considered.
The institute, therefore, aims to carry out research and studies for better utilization of both
non-renewable and renewable energy sources with especial emphasis on international and
domestic markets, prices and various aspects of the impact of energy consumption on
economic , social, strategic and environmental parameters.
To achieve these goals, IIES currently employs scientists, engineers, economists and political
scientists in Iran and overseas.
